Originally from Leicestershire, he spent much of his formative years growing up along the Jurassic Coast, where the natural beauty of the sea and landscape nurtured a lifelong appreciation for creation and contemplation.

Before entering full-time ministry, Archbishop Shane pursued a career in nursing, a vocation that profoundly shaped his pastoral identity. His experience in healthcare instilled in him a deep sense of empathy, care, and a commitment to the dignity of every person—values that continue to inform his ministry and leadership.

Now residing in the Cotswolds, he draws inspiration from the tranquillity of the countryside, integrating a love of nature into his spiritual life and teaching. Alongside his ecclesial duties, he holds a keen interest in history and heraldry, often expressing theology and identity through symbolic and artistic means.
